Psychopharmacology and ethnicity

An evidence-based database

Important interethnic differences in response to psychotropic drugs are reported in numerous scientific studies. This site aims to assemble these differences.

Scientific knowledge about psychopharmacology is mainly based on scientific research among western/white/caucasian populations. We hope that this site will offer clinicians an important tool in improving their psychopharmacological treatment in ethic diverse patients.
This site focusses only on the, sometimes large, ethnic variations in psychopharmacology and offers evidende based data to aid clinicians in personalizing the treatment of their patients.

It is important to keep in mind that drugs response is not solely influenced by ethnicity but many other variables. Ethnic differences are often superimposed on substantial interindividual variation within each ethnic group.
